Alohahas perform tonight

The Alohahas will perform a “Back to School Special — With a side of Sauce” tonight at Aloha Theatre. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $15. Ages 18 and older are welcome.

Trash Art Show is tonight in Hilo

The Hawaii Museum of Contemporary Art will celebrate 26 years of the Trash Art Show at 5:30 p.m. this evening at 141 Kalakaua St. in Hilo.

“What makes this display so special is the enthusiasm of the artists, some of which create work only for this show. I feel this exhibit attracts the finest art work in the islands.” Ira Ono, coordinator and juror, said.

James Dean Perkins of the Recycled Yard Rounders will entertain with instruments made from recycled materials. Also entertaining will be a group of women, the Acapellas along with artist Toby Hazel.

Donkey Mill Art Center holds annual meeting

Donkey Mill Art Center’s annual membership meeting will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday. All are welcome to meet the board and staff and see what is happening at the center. Attendees should bring a pupu to share if staying for the opening ceramics reception afterward.

Donkey Mill Art Center is the home of the Holualoa Foundation for Arts and Culture, established in 1994 by a diverse group of individuals who shared a vision to develop and expand art education opportunities in the community to enrich people’s lives.
